The Intake Process

Starting Your Child’s ABA Journey

The process begins with an initial phone call or meeting to learn about your child’s needs and goals. We’ll gather basic information, verify insurance, and explain ABA therapy. You’ll provide key documents like diagnosis documentation, a referral (if needed), and insurance details. We’ll then schedule the initial assessment to design a personalized therapy plan. Payment Options

We accept:

  • Maryland Medicaid
  • TRICARE East
  • BlueCross BlueShield (CareFirst)
  • Cigna
  • Aetna

Learning and Behavior Consulting is considered an out-of-network provider for insurance plans not listed above. However, we accept Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA) cards for payment.

Upon request, we can provide itemized receipts or superbills that you may submit to your insurance company to seek reimbursement or use any available out-of-network benefits. During your consultation, we will provide the relevant billing and procedure codes so you can verify coverage directly with your insurance provider. Payment for services is required at the time they are rendered.

In accordance with the No Surprises Act of 2021, clients who are paying privately are entitled to receive a Good Faith Estimate outlining the expected costs of applied behavior analysis (ABA) services. This requirement does not apply to services billed through insurance.
